Rehab…I Need Advice!?

Question by MysteryGrl: Rehab…I need advice!?
How much is it to send someone to rehab for drugs and alcohol in the boston area? My best friend she has been out of work for 8 months and I she has con’ed her doctors / therapist into giving her drugs and she is drinking on them every night…all of our friends have come to me and are concerned…we are thinking of doing an intervention. I called an invention hotline and they suggested in-house rehab…any advice? How long would she have to go into rehab? will it work?

She is on anti-depressants, sleeping medication prescribed by a therapist and muscle relaxers prescribed by a doctor…she was in acar accident 8 months ago and has been drinking on them everynight since.

you need to call boston-area rehab centers and they can give you all the info you need. most health insurance covers the cost of rehab, or at least part of it.
depending on her problem, she could be in to detox (1-2 weeks) or up to 90 days (although i’m not sure about this time limit in massachusetts). it really depends on her personal needs.
intervention is really really difficult (i’ve been on the receiving end of it, unfortunately) but i think you are doing the right thing. it is extremely dangerous to drink on those meds! good luck. call area rehabs. talk to your friend.
