Is There a Connection Between SIDS and Drug Abuse?

Question by Bad Wolf: Is there a connection between SIDS and drug abuse?
My question is purely informational, I’m just curious. I’ve known a few people who’s babies have died of SIDS and they were all drug addicts. Heroine, meth, oxy etc… the cause of death on all the babies was SIDS. I’m just wondering if there is a correlation? Are there any studies done on SIDS that might help?

Maybe, but it hasn’t been Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. This syndrome or crib death marked by the sudden death of an infant unexpected by history or unexplained after a thorough forensic autopsy and a detailed death scene investigation. The term cot death is also used in the UK, Ireland, Australia, India, South America and New Zealand.
The only drug found to be involved in SIDS was heroin, probably the worst of all. Good luck and God Bless
